Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, with a focus on 3D CAD skills, to join our team. The successful candidate will support the design, development, and manufacturing processes of battery energy storage systems (BESS). The candidate will collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure that battery storage solutions meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and optimization of battery energy storage systems, including battery packs, energy management systems (EMS), and power electronics.
- Support the development of prototype designs and perform testing and validation to ensure product performance to design specifications.
- Aid in the integration of batteries with renewable energy sources such as solar and wind to create efficient energy storage solutions.
- Participate in the manufacturing process, ensuring that designs are properly implemented and meet quality control standards.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot issues during design, development, and manufacturing stages.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, including system specifications, test reports, and design schematics.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols during the design and manufacturing processes.
- Assist in the development of cost-effective solutions by analyzing design, material, and manufacturing costs.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align designs with customer requirements and project objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Good communication skills to effectively report on design and manufacturing progress.
- A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude with a passion for energy storage and sustainable technology.
- Experience with energy management systems (EMS) or supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Understanding of battery safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications (optional):
- Internship or project experience related to battery storage or renewable energy systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as UL, CSA, IEC, NEC, ANSI, or IEEE.
- Working knowledge with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB, or similar tools) for modeling and simulations.
- Basic understanding of energy storage systems, including batteries, inverters, and power electronics.
- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery technologies is a plus.
- German language skills are a plus.
